Summer Sailing ’21

This summer my partner and I spent four weeks on the water – travelling for two and a half days along the rivers and canals from Berlin to Szczecin in Poland, then on through the varied landscape of the Oder delta and the German Baltic coast, including the islands of Usedom, Rügen and Hiddensee, to the fabulous waterscapes of the Dars, and the West Pomeranian lagoon area. Our chosen mode of transport was a fifty year old, 28-foot long keel sailing boat from the Swedish Albin shipyard, with an average speed of around 4 knots, i.e. slightly faster than walking speed.
